Setting aside art practice time is so hard with no deadlines. The daily video piece is helping a lot, but trying to move into doing more than just 10 minutes per day of artwork can be tough. Today maybe I'll do something I've been putting off.

@jannamark To be fair, I shove a lot of stuff out of the way to do these videos. Sun room studio can be super nice, but also too hot and too cold and so skinny in areas that my desk barely wedges into that one end. It's still super awesome that I have been able to make a space to work.

I love the sound of the rain, but also if I forget to close the window, it swells up and won't shut. Whoops. #oldapartmentprobz

On a lighter note, I love when I'm roasting potatoes and they're so hot they're making a squealing sound.

@Zestryon This is super interesting, but I'm rubbed the wrong way by the ending. Like, we have extreme dog breeds that are super unhealthy because of this. "Imagine having a golden retriever-sized cat, with the same sunny disposition. Tomorrow's cat lovers might be living with baby-faced tigers or ultra-fluffy purse cats who look like kittens forever." But...no?

So I took apart my serger, oiled, cleaned, put it back together, still scraping. It's actually working better? But is making this awful grinding noise and then slowing down. Figured out what pieces are grinding, but I don't know how to adjust them. I'm all for DIY, but a lot of times it's because I can't afford to take something for repairs. Ugh. Now I have a blister on my hand from turning the handwheel. I has a sad.

On the way home, I realized there were HUNDREDS of caterpillars hanging from trees on this one street that also has horrendous potholes, and nowhere to turn onto another block. So I'm dodging potholes with my head down, mouth closed, uttering some weird guttural EEEEEEEEEE sound. Shouted 'Watch out for caterpillars!' at another passing cyclist but I don't think he realized I was talking to him. The Most Winnipeg Situation I have encountered since moving here.

It bums me out that I get followed by braces fetish accounts every time I post a selfie on twitter, insta or tumblr. Makes me not want to smile.

Apparently I'm a better cyclist than I thought. Just dodged a caterpillar dangling at face height with my entire upper body and didn't fall down.
