It happens that every month or so, someone comes onto Mastodon and @'s a bunch of people saying that a user here on Masto is a rapist. They use 4chan and Encyclopedia Dramatica (the same sites used against myself and many other women to hurt us) as references.

Every time we ask them to explain, to give us receipts, to give us anything that isn't fascist nonsense. They always disappear without doing so. It just happened a couple weeks ago.

yeaahh suspension should mark the account as suspended and delete it like a month later

could also be useful for more serious cases like i remember this "evidence collection" issue where you'd want to lock but not delete an account

could also be used to finally bring deactivating an account without deletion temporarily, just by adding an optional "purge date" on suspended accounts
