Hardcore/Punk scene is 95% awful. I don't even go to concerts anymore, maybe 2 or 3 per year, because it basically don't make any sense. The question of brutality, therefore toxic masculinity, is extremely developed and not deconstructed.
There are excellent bands, that continue the "spirit of punk/hardcore", but the music don't especially look like punk at all, and this is very good. @fluffy
@smonff Okay, I've never went to a concert and mostly get my news from this website which doesn't seem to allow sexism and homophobia. But I've (sadly) already read articles of some truly hateful behaviour against women or queer people from people of this scene.
sexisme in the hardcore/punk scene, rape Afficher plus
@fluffy sure. I collected many stories of this kind only through this paris concert agenda: the violence peak was surely the "Mecanique Ondulatoire" bar, that scheduled a band called "viol" ("rape") with a song depicting an aggression from the point of view of the aggressor. This place is awful, at some point they had a panel behind the bar saying: "One tit == one shot (only for girls)". It has been a place for " punk" culture for a long time
