I set up the Kindle app on Mum's iPad this afternoon, and she's exclaimed how excited she is over this, repeatedly. She's on the loveseat now iPad in hand.

Me: Are you reading a book?
Mum: Shut up!
Me: *amused* So, are you?
Mum: No, I'm playing a game.
Me: ...
Mum: I only have 10 minutes, I can't do that.
Me: Are you SURE you birthed me?
Mum: SOMETIMES I WONDER.

This is 100% NOT directed at anyone on Masto. ♥ I've been seeing it a lot on birdsite, and that's what prompted this.

It's been interesting to watch hypocrites come out of the woodwork while this Al Franken resignation is going on.

You get ONE set of standards. If you're okay with watching Hollywood tumble, if you want to see Trump et al. torn from their seats of power citing sexual assault accusations, then you have to back Al Franken's resignation.

You can absolutely feel betrayal over it, & serious bitterness, too, watching him resign while so many GOP dickbags stay in power. Your feelings are valid.

But you can't scream "but AL'S a good guy" & "believe women" in the same breath. That is a hypocritical double standard.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a person will not react well to being told they are on some bullshit.

@guerrillarain @nergdron Hoo boy, that'd be some combo! Tessa's right about the copper, it'll conduct and amplify energy (both ways, so it's good for sloughing off negative ish) so pairing it with black tourmaline to ground (as well as protect) is an excellent, if highly charged, idea.

@Maenad @guerrillarain Seconding this. It's also good for dissolving any negative ties, like emotional or energetic crap that people may heap on you.

@Sylvhem You're welcome. :) It's a more recent "event" that bloomed out of Black Friday within (I think?) the last 5 years or so.

It's the online equivalent of Black Friday, and was kind of meant to boost online shopping sales.

There's also Small Business Saturday, whereby all the indie shops promote their wares, which was kind of a tactic to get people to spend more money supporting local and/or smaller shops instead of going to box stores like Walmart.
