We'll never be able to upload ourselves into machines. It's the teleporter problem phrased differently: If you create an exact copy of the brain, then there are two of you, just as surely as twins are different people the moment they separate.

I liken it to "me" (𒈨), which is an obscure reference to assyrian/babylonian gods granting competence/authority over a subject or practice. It's interesting to think of a thing like this as a physical thing, seperable from the written instructions to do it. It's interesting to think of "rejoicing of the heart" as a praxis, on an equal footing with "metalwork" and equally difficult and valuable.
