As a result of witches.town shutting down at the end of the month, I'm going to begin posting exclusively at @eribloodlust. Please follow me there.

It was a really good run here on witches town and I enjoyed it a lot :) thanks to all the other witches.

I've been watching (SciFi series) for a while and it's giving me so many thoughts.

Like, how is humanity gonna develop if we don't actually get space communism, but space capitalism?

*faces freak me out, faces make me scared. faces make me so damn self aware*

today saw lena stöhrfaktor at the reichenbergerstrasse fest. was so good.

Can people please put the feature discourse behind a CW or please hashtag it so people can mute it.

Would be great if this would be shared/adopted.

what abt the ppl on mastoon who aent here or the arguments abt mastodon features? its not easy to filter all you out. im not here for that, i dont care. honestly unless the feature is inherntly problematic i dont care if its an option i just wont use it.

hot take: Pulaski was a better doctor than Crusher

exclusion in german feminism -

afab person is abusive: we need to have a very very long process including mediation to address this but we will get tired of the process and never do anything about it

trans femme just stands up for herself: either a formal exclusion with no mediation, or just being mobbed out.

trans femme is abusive: its ok as long as its towards other trans femmes otherwise she's gone

considering to write a zine about the german feminist commandment that "one may never question another persons feelings".

The reason being: I have witnessed the use of phrases such as "i feel unsafe because of this person" or "i am uncomfortable with this person", used as a way to hide bigotry while getting what they want. This has been used in my experience to exclude minorities: poc, trans femmes, and neuroatypical people, from mostly white german afab lefty structures. I think it should be ok to ask why someone feels unsafe with a trans woman of colour living in their collective house. Why someone's callout makes you uncomfortable.

@eribloodlust also should mention that ablism is a part of this. the thing about the american dream is there is an assumption that everyone has the same starting point and will succeed if they have the work ethic. european tech community seems to have a similar vibe.

i told some men, "i have a hard time to find work in tech, because discrimination against women in that field."

one actually replied "i dont think its discrimination. at my work, there are no women, so there isnt discrimination"

even in europe, tech has an "american dream" problem. even leftist technologists have a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" rhetoric and are ignorant to access to resources, intersectional oppression, and most importantly: the cost of time that it takes to do unpaid self study, when someone is already poor. i see this mostly in the advice people give.

*i will call out classism in tech communities, even tho its uncomfortable and is likely to result in me being less respected*

Btw for those who don't know, @rhiaro is responsible for a lot of the clarity in the structure of ActivityPub. She's the reason the document is so nicely split between client to server and server to server... prior to that it was all one spec where you had to implement both.

She also just passed her PhD yesterday! Her thesis is cool and relevant: "The Presentation of Self
on a Decentralised Web" rhiaro.github.io/thesis/

Let's all give her a round of applause!
