i cant believe im making 300€ in a day to do this. i had no training, no onboarding, learning as i go, and the admin staff whos in charge has no idea about tech stuff, so they defer to my judgement basically any time i want. well, i find it a lot better than being a junior dev just working on bullshit i dont care about with now power and unreasonably high expectations

teaching a front end web development course to 12 students, mostly refugees, is my new job! today we spent most of the day learning how to structure folders for web sites, and then learning bash and simple bash commands in order to do it in the terminal :D the students were really in to it. they were quizzing each other on bash commands even on break. it was really cute :3

@Laurelai @Concerned_Catgirl im a trans woman who vehemently disagrees, and actually really find this take problematic. we have to acknowledge that often cis women think trans women have male privilege in a way we dont. but also in my experience, there were benefits to male privilege that i had as a child, and as a young adult. privilege is not a binary state, some ways we had it, some we didnt. times we didnt dont cancel out when we did.

@Laurelai @Concerned_Catgirl i dont like when a blanket statement like this is used to try to explain a nuanced situation, particularly since i have done a lot of work to be accountable to hiq i instrumentalized this privilege either in a mysigynist way, or in a way that beneffitted me over women... i think, as a trans woman, my perspective that i had male privilege is not accepted by this statement in a way that is problematic
