@eribloodlust @Antanicus interestingly, nothing about the scene on the right makes it a different future from the left scene. It looks more like just the perspectives of different classes in the same world. The message then being not "let's prevent dystopia" but "better pick the right team as we leap head first into it"

@Antanicus @eribloodlust I always saw it as more like rationalization. Not "be conservative to get richer" but "I have what I have because I am a strong, hard working winner, so I don't need to have any guilt about those who have less"

@datatitian @eribloodlust I was thinking more of the political and clerical institutions at large, as in "X class seems to be winning the game, let's side with them no questions asked". The vatican's been practicing this sport since forever, the republican party in the post-Reagan era is another example
