I also pitched a spatial analysis about Google Maps new 'Area of Interest' feature. Google claims their algorithm analyses the most active areas based on the density of bars, restaurants, and shops... and yet in Berlin, San Francisco, and LA... dense minority districts are not highlighted while white or gentrifying districts are. I wanted to figure out a way to analyse if Google is disproportionately highlighting white districts, while not highlighting equally dense, active, and interesting minority districts. Some people were really interested in the idea so now we are doing this analysis. It's the only critical project here.

@eribloodlust Do you already have results on this project ? It would be very interesting to know the reasons behind the google's algorithm behavior.

@Kuro once we finish the data set i will send u a simple map of our data :3 and then we are gonna do some correlation analysis

@eribloodlust I was gonna ask of you know about , but at that sort of hackathon you probably do. Has good coverage for Berlin.

@ebel we are using it for data vis :3
