Has anyone on here read The Husband Stitch? I saw the story yesterday on Facebook and I've read it like three times now, and shared it with everyone I know, and I just.. want to talk about it more

Feel relatively proud to solve something on HR that has a 65% success rate, but equally I know it only has a shit SR because the timeouts are ridiculously harsh.

I was using inplace quicksort, which is around O(n log n), but it was failing on one of the bigger inputs. Used a Rust default of timsort, which is O(n log n) -> O(n), which I didn't think would be especially different, and that passed all cases.

So that feels a bit shit that my implementation wasn't quick enough, or the data was so much more suited to timsort no implemented of qs was going to do it.

maybe I just don't like hackerrank, but I'm too damn stubborn to give up on this challenge

So I'll finish Rust, and then run rustfmt, not have to waste my time changing my style, and it's ready to commit.

One of my friends tried to kill herself on the weekend.

FINALLY resolved the issue I was having with the presto connector.

So I've found out cache locality is a thing, because accessing Vec<Vec<T>> is horrific compared to Vec<T> using an API that pretends it's actually a 2D Vector.

So that was one issue, then I found out when presto says it's done, it doesn't mean it's done. it just means that it's done if you get all the data, so I've changed how it looks at done queries and now it's writing fairly fast.

So after this, I just need to finish the binary example, add in some error handling for other queries, and then it should be done?

Oh my dearest gods. Fixed the presto connector so it can actually join records in a reasonable time, and now it seems that the implementation of extend isn't working correctly, so if you retrieve 1 parameter you get 10 results, but if you retrieve 2 you get 5 results.

It's like, I feel so much closer to finishing but also starting to question why I even wanted this :')
