main options are writing a cookie/reading from third party cookies and rewriting that as a first party cookie, and using fingerprinting techniques.
so you've got like your actual useragent, which is not super unique, the IP you're browsing on, and the device.
What _used_ to be a big one was using the fonts you have installed, but it's butts to actually pull through JavaScript and if you change the installed fonts it messes up our ID, so we need something else to check against, like the first/third cookie trick.
