@edensaesthetic luckily samsung and google aren't the only phone manufacturers, especially given the worker abuse that samsung engages in
between replicant, fairphone, oneplus, purism (despite their sketchy hardware/service quality) and the horde of smaller labels, i think there's hope for more leakiness in the future
