i am *very* lucky to work in a supportive environment where i'm confident my colleagues and managers will back me up when i stand up for myself and even then i often still err on the side of not wanting to escalate or be rude

we've talked about this stuff a LOT at my library and there still isn't a perfect solution; i can't even imagine working the kind of job i do in am environment where those conversations don't take place

i feel like fixing a lot of health stuff has made me such a baby about pain

like i know i'm just being unreasonably harsh with myself but sometimes i complain about something and then i think "ok but remember when it was 1000x worse this is fine"

but also like....i *should* be raising my standards for acceptable levels of pain like the fact that i'm not settling for "not as bad as before" is a good thing probably i hope

the concept of menstruation was a mistake

i can count on one hand (less, honestly) the number of birdsite personalities i follow on here but so far not one of them has responded to or connected with me the way genuinely invested mastodon people have

so i'm honestly probably just gonna finally call it and unfollow all of them/go with my initial instinct of sticking with new internet friends for a new internet space

i just found out a song that i've always vaguely liked but never knew where it came from was by the killers so that's my night slightly ruined

SO made pasta and didn't drink any of the accompanying wine so i guess i'm finishing this bottle myself how will i ever manage

it's good shit too, i'm not usually a wine person so i don't like spending $ on it but he found a half price deal and i can defs taste the difference
