hey if football isn't your thing that's fine but consider:

football isn't so much a sport as a strategy game

if you're into strategy, watch a game or two with that in mind and see what you think

@ebeth while it does increase the interest significantly to watch it that way the fact is you can easily get equally complex strategies without any concussions whatsoever from board games so like, this almost makes it worse?

Also because all their players are completely wrecking their brains and bodies they can only play like four games per season, greatly increasing the amount of luck involved which I personally find offputting though I get why other people dont

@Satsuma
valid but each individual player is working together under a general play call to strategize as a team which makes it p different from strategy board games where one person controls a side (you can make an argument for the coach or qb being the "player" in this scenario but there's still a lot of individual strategizing involved with football players that you don't see from board game pieces)

and i defs think the NFL needs to do everything in its power (a lot more than it's doing) to minimize injury/make things safer for players but 4 games is a big exaggeration. injuries definitely introduce randomness but plenty of players play a full season

@ebeth yeah thats a fair point

16+ playoffs, in comparison basketball and hockey have 82+playoffs and baseball apparently has a whopping 162 so ‘theres not enough games to remove luck as a major factor, which is not necessarily a flaw but I personally find frustrating” is, I think, a fair call
