Some good plays tonight so far, but that was a weird couple of downs. Running back tried to jump /over/ a blocker, and then on the fourth-down punt, the holder fumbled the ball and screwed the place kicker up.

First casualty of the game: Pats #14 Cook took a hard hit and had to be taken off the field. (He's walking now, but that was a HARD hit.)

And the Patriots can't land a play.

Whoops, 15-3, I mathed wrong. And they missed the extra point.

#14 Cooks will not return to the game after his head injury. (They're not calling it a concussion.)

...and the feed just cut out for about 15 seconds, with a network logo coming up after about half of that. That was weird.

That's the second false start so far. These guys are antsy.

And then wasted a down later when a receiver fumbled a catch and the Patriots picked up an interception.

Superb drive by the Patriots. #28 shoved past defenders to score, bringing the score to 15-12.

...and the Patriots have missed another field goal. The commentators are going out of their way to blame everyone but the kicker.

Cory Clemmont (Eagles #30) just got a 54-yard run. ...and then a hell of a push through the defense. The Eagles are now at the 2-yard line.

...and someone's helmet just came off. Ack.

Amazing fake-out play by the Eagles (which the commentators are still gushing about) gets the ball into the endzone, and they've made the extra point, so it's 22-12 Eagles and it's a two-score game again.

Touchdown and extra point by the Patriots, coming on strong in the second half. 22-19 and it's a one-score game again.

Philadelphia is getting a lot of mileage (well, yardage) out of fakeout plays tonight.

Touchdown Eagles, an over-the-shoulder catch by Cory Clemmont - and it's under review to see if he really had control of the ball.

Ruling stands, implausible as that is. (The commentators are boggling as well.) And the Eagles make the extra point, so it's 29-19. It's been interesting to watch the Eagles answer every point the Pats have scored.

And the Patriots have scored again, to make it 29-26. The place kicker is finally finding his mark in the second half.

"This is turning into fast-break basketball", say the commentators.

Commentators still gushing about that trick play of Philadelphia's. Meanwhile, the Eagles didn't quite manage to answer the Pats' touchdown, so it's 29-26 going into the fourth quarter.

Wow, that was a /rotten/ play to open the fourth quarter. Better to just throw it away.

On the other hand, the Eagles' place kicker just broke the record for the longest field goal by a rookie player, and the Eagles are now up 32-26. Still a one-possession game, but the Pats are going to have to work harder for it.

Oh, Burkhead's gotta be mad about that. Successful run but he got tripped - tripped! Not tackled!

He made up for it next play by getting the first down, tho.

The Eagles are just falling apart. What on earth is going on, Philadelphia?

Touchdown Patriots! They've tied it up, and the extra point will put them over.

(The commentators were over-enthusiastic.)

If you've been paying attention, the extra point would give the Patriots their first lead of the game.

Okay, now they're in the lead. 33-32. The Eagles really need to step it up.
