also genuinely still pissed that this is *during the week* like obviously i'm not gonna be shitty about it in front of people but this is leaving me with almost no vacation hours left

idk my SO's family is rich and i feel like this whole wedding is just such a stark example of how different their mindset is from what i'm used to

@ebeth Have only ever been on one cruise (to Alaska, on Holland America, a lot of years ago) but FWIW...there should be a lot more to do than shopping. Most of the big ships seem to have gyms, spas, libraries, and theatres (both movie and live shows). And the one I was on, there were lectures about where we were going--cultural, wildlife, and the like.

lectures would be good! i think Alaska is probably more interesting than Florida to me but i could still go for that

movies and shows and everything are fine, definitely better than shopping but it's also stuff i can do anywhere, any time. i guess i just don't really see the point of going on a cruise for it

idk i'm sure i'll find ways to entertain myself, just also venting b/c i'm putting in way more time&money than is usual for attending a wedding&it might be the only trip we get if i can't manage to shift my schedule for the stuff *I* want to do&that kind of sucks

@ebeth Oh yeah, I totally get the venting! I'd be peeved too, not really having a choice. Especially with the loss of vacation time and the rest.
