I'm in Krakow, Poland 🇵🇱, and the Internet (& Yelp) says there are bars, but I can't see anything when going there. 🙁🙁🏳️‍🌈

Say what you want about Switzerland, but the flag is a big plus.

If your coffee shop has a passive aggressive "no wifi pretend it's the old days" sign I'm gonna smoke in there & pay 50 cents for coffee.

"More harm has been done throughout history by obedience
than by malice. The arsenals of all the world’s militaries are the physical manifestation of our willingness to defer to others. If you want to be sure you never contribute to war, genocide, or oppression, the first step is to stop following orders."

Any recomandation for bite size read on the following:
- anarchism in history (stuff that work, stuff that didn't)
- paper on existing anachist society (especially if the society is not labeled anarchist).
- Stuff around self sufficiency, that people can do right now
- Environmental direct action stuff (other things than guerilla gardening ).
- Stuff around/peripheral to the topic above.

Boost would be appreciated <3
Thanks for your help

The state of mapping of /#LGBT bars in is terrible. There isn't a widely adopted standard. 🙁🙁 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

I wonder if there is an open source/content rating site/app. Like open source trip advisor... Could be based on

Signal is looking for a someone to work with them [1]. Of course they are based in SF. Of course the candidates have to be in the US.

You know what? If you want to make a difference in the world today, don't make your tech US centric.
Why the fuck all of these company make a point to be in SF. What is the idea behind that?
A lot of the mass surveillance problems are tied to silicon valley itself. If you don't even reflect on that, why bother?

I have gone on holiday, and I haven't logged into on all my apps. That was silly 🤦‍♀️

"Wow you're so mature for your age!"
"Thanks it was the trauma"

@ebel @viv memory 👏 leaks 👏 are 👏 a 👏 class 👏 issue

I am sad to see damn small Linux is no longer maintained, though I'm not surprised.

I presume cis straight women might need to use condoms? Maybe if they use insertable sex toys? Granted, it's an edge case... (and I might be wrong)...

Specifically seeing people say "condoms are male, feminine hygiene is female". And "gender is social, sex biological", which feels like a step away from someone telling a trans person they aren't really that sex. 🙁🙁

Lord, grant me the confidence of a white British historian who once read a book about Ireland.

A discussion about gender biases in an open source project & seeing some creeping cissexism/dog whistle transphobia. 😢😢

I am about to go on holiday. So of course I'm worrying that I don't have enough books.

(a part of me thinks these VC funded SV tech companies like the fact that you need a massive server farm (or money for AWS) to run their software. Hinders competition and make it hard for users to self host. The VCs have to keep the VC industry alive!)

Often, software speed comes at the code of functionality (and vice versa). But not always! The challenge for us software devs is to try to have both, which will take more work. But it will take work for us to make the world a better place for those who don't have spiffy new high end computers.

Often, high level programming languages (python/js) make the programmers life easier, and don't suffer common security flaws (like C), which is good. But they are sometimes slower, which is bad. This is why I'm loving , because it's hella fast, and very high level. It might help make faster safe programmes

If your company's new software only works with a massive distributed cloud server farm, then someone can't run it at home, further entrenching the power of a corporatation. To compete with your company, someone needs access to VC/investment money, ie be college educated, white cis American male. Slow software is a diversity issue.
