One thing that's nice about is that they try to make it easy to use, and there are ways to "transition" to it. Eg free just installed the ipfs-companion extension, which make my browser use ipfs easily

@starbreaker I always thought it was obviously a take on nazis. It's only recently I learned that some people don't actually see that... Wtf?

So, "squirrel" is a very hard word for non-native English speakers to say.

In German, the word for squirrel is "Eichhornchen," which is hilarious to hear non-native German speakers attempt to say.

I wonder if there's some global squirrel conspiracy to ensure their name in every language is ridiculously hard for foreigners to say.

How did the mansplainer get injured? Afficher plus

@zyabin101 Yeah I know that. But I was afraid it wasn't going to get anywhere and would be cancelled. Once something can start and prove itself, I hope it can attract more funding etc.

Awesome! the new privacy NGO from Max reached it's kickstarter goal and will be going ahead!!! 😀😀😀😀😀

They should start fighting for privacy in May when the EU's GDPR comes in.

Nothing like real world data to reveal hidden (false) assumptions in how your algorithm works.

In software, employers should see a union as a positive sign that their employees want the company to succeed. Otherwise, employees wouldn't put in the effort to start a union, they'd just hop to the next available job.

When skilled developers are as hard to find as they've been for my entire career, employers should be happy to see developers who care enough to stay and fight.

I've done the first 90% of my project. Now I have to do the next 90%.

My side project seems to be progressing nicely. And then I discover another bug.

Something the NYT obit doesn't mention: many of LeGuin's protagonists are people of colour, and she vigorously protested any attempts to whitewash them. Her work was more deeply indebted to Daoism than to the Christian ethos underlying fantasy classics like Narnia and LOTR. She spoke out against fascism. She accepted the multiplicity of truths while resisting authoritarian attempts to erode truth itself.

@wohali Oh thanks! I didn't know the source, since it was from twitter.

@0x3F I also use jrnl.sh in work. Mostly to remember commands/etc I had already and so I can know if I've done a thing. It's command line, so that's good (for me) for short notes. It's a plain text file, so it's greppable - another plus.

A part of me wants my own local wiki type documentation though, instead of just a "log"

Sign saying ' is cool and good'
"why is the writing on your sign so crooked?"
"Oh I don't have any rulers"
