I'd like to learn how to calculate tide times. It would be nice to be more aware of natural forces around us.

@ebel its not that simple to do from scratch (I think you actually need to physically observe a known location and collect data over a period of time to be accurate) but you can calculate those for other locations from data that is often published by national hydrography services...

For some reason I thought it would be as easy as sunrise/set times or something. It's always interesting to know how much work goes into calculating things we take for granted.
