OK, I'm going to give DuckDuckGo a try as a search engine, instead of Google. I tried DDG before and it's poor quality drove me back to G

@ebel i recently discovered searx. it is decentralized (has many instances/URLs) and aggregates results from the major search engines (you can specify which) so the quality of results remains high

main drawback for me is it takes extra seconds to load compared to g

@ebel consider giving bangs a try, they made me never want to switch back again: duckduckgo.com/bang

@noiob I know about bangs. But I have many quick searches set up in browser already (like w for Wikipedia), so I feel like I already have that functionality myself. 🙂

@ebel hm, I actually really like how I don't have to set those up (no idea if Safari could even do that), and they even work on my phone ^^ plus it's super convenient to type a website name (and hope it's a valid bang) instead of going there and find out where the search bar is

@ebel I using duckduckgo and searx.me and think google as often bad quality.
Search results are different in ddg and searx, but I prefer them
