Does the USA have public holidays? Days where *all* employees get a paid day off (or an entitlement to double pay or another paid day off?)
@ebel While it is a tradition that most companies adhere to having certain days fall under that policy, there is no compulsory holiday pay.
An unfortunate exception to “most” is retail/hospitality work
@ebel Nope. Government workers get government holidays off (Christmas, New Year's, MLK Jr., etc.) but if you work for a private company, it's basically up to them which holidays you get, if any, and whether you're paid for them
