So I'm on a trip, and I have started the habit of throwing tiny coins into rivers/streams/fountains (so long as there are no beggars around to give money to instead). And then I got an idea. It would be cool if you could stamp/mint custom coins/tokens with positive messages, like "end transphobia", which you would throw into the river, to banish these bad things. 🙂
@ChrisWere yeah I need to look into that. Back in the day, they used to just hit coins with a hammer lots. I wonder if that would work.
Research says that "metal stamping" is a craft thing. So I might be able to make my custom coins by hand by stamping the words out myself! 🙌
@ebel would be soooo cool *_*
The more I think about this, the more I like rivers. They go on a long way, but aren't really solid, being just water that changes. They connect things.
If I make something in metal, it could last for thousands of years. Which is very appealing.
@ebel make something out of Styrofoam
@amsomniac eh, I want something less destructible by the general person
@amsomniac I also like the idea of a stamped metal thing being very similar to what people made 5,000+ years ago. That it all the continuation of what we've being doing forever
@ebel I want to make coins with popular genders on them to flip when people make me choose
@amsomniac make a custom dice (die?) to cover the fact that there are more than 2. Call it a gendie.
@amsomniac unless you personally are only in max 2 genders, then a custom gender coin would work for you
@ebel by some strange coincide everyone who demands a gender from me demands one of two
@ebel I was thinking when I first saw your message of the machines they have to stamp coins at Disneyland, national parks, and touristy spots. They are great.
@Ghost yeah, they're cool. I sorta want something like that, but ideally not rolled flat, and with my own design. Machines to do it are really expensive, so I'll probably just have to do it by hand.
@ebel I could be wrong, but you might be able to do that with a coin-press machine. They look pretty expensive though :-S
