@meena three, and a small colony of bats. i think they've formed a stable ecosystem
@meena I made some cold brew the last few days. Half a glass does this to me.

@starbreaker trains are good, but less flexible and more expensive. Busses also stop closer(better access). the solution is, of course, integrated transport- frequent accessible and cheap trains, with busses for last mile, maybe even with algorithmic control if nessecary.
@vernepator_cur I understand they got a coupon in lieu of wages
@meena nah, because
a) much fewer stops/less routes
b) much more expensive(1.50 flat rate(incl one change) vs 1.70 minimum tube fare, rising quickly.)
all those busses are accessible(like, actually. Our ramps almost always work) wheras uber has about 100 accessible cars(not all up at once) giving wait times of 45m. busses tend to be ~15m at most.
ftr, the underground has a daily ridership of ~5m(not counting other metro rail: national/overgound/dlr/etc)
@vernepator_cur i know. the person im talking about is a friend, and used tp have a seriously sorted politics/engineering/social understanding, and that's disapeared
Just, giving people an idea of how much better busses are than uber(let alone expensive point to point flying uber):
uber has somewhere between 2 and 3 million riders in london. total. Since forever. Including the people who installed it once and got the free ride, or who use it once a month.
Our bus network has 6 milion riders. Daily.
@vernepator_cur The entirity of startup culture needs destroying and rebuilding from the ground up.
wait I should format that better:
Tired: Flying cars
Wired: Busses.
you: flying cars
me: busses. busses are good.
Technology is a fucking cult and some people think uber's going to serve up a flying car.
