@Terathiel Federation doesn't actually have a character limit at all, so yeah. (Beyond the possibility that some point in the chain rejects extremely large HTTP requests.)

@Terathiel But uh basically, there is no reason you could not be sent the entire Bee Movie script in a single status if the originating instance allowed posts that long.
You may decide for yourself if that's a plus of federated social or a minus.
@Terathiel One problem that was fun to have back on StatusNet was if someone set up an extremely-high-limit instance to send you messages that just filled the whole screen in your mentions.
