I guess when I was younger and less aware of things I might have had some views that were disrespectful of kids. I'm sorry for that now. It was an outlet for me, for constantly having to deal with this normative pressure to "breed", and it was the wrong one.

but what also happened was, that simply stating "I don't want to have kids" and "I don't think babies are cute" was twisted into "I hate kids".

maybe it's a thing that if you're considered a childhater just for not wanting to have children yourself, you react with provocation.. (and that's not excusing it.)

the kids are all right. the system stinks.

in the last week I read a toot about how you shouldn't call people with kids "breeders". In my mother language, (german)there is no equivalent to that word.. correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm childfree by choice, and being nominally heterosexual/being read as heterosexual, I had my fair share of dealing with expectations that having children is something that "all people do (except for queers and freaks)". Or what "every woman wants".

for me, the term "breeders" applies to people who live by these rules and norms without questioning them _and_ thoughtlessly impose them on other people, regardless if they have kids or not.

#bulletjournal I learned how to do this brush lettering and now it's really getting old.
Or am I just too impatient to practice more and refine my technique?

I went back to lifebook 2015 (an art journaling online course) and did a lesson by Roben Marie Smith, and it involves a chaotic page of lots of elements. I hated it in the middle, and then I just threw more stuff at it and now I start to like it!

I just learned what "tankie" means.

now someone I know has gotten a letter to appear at the police station to answer questions and it suddenly became real. this used to be a thing you could just ignore.

I watched "freedom", the film about and by #GeorgeMichael with a friend. and yeah.. many feelz. he was such a genius musically. I wish he had a happier and longer life.
