@pastelbat you're totally right, and I feel bad that it's not a holistic approach... but also it was something simple that I kept noticing.

@n I only know amaroq, which supports alt text!
my mobile devices tend to be very old, so I can't always try out the newest apps.
Use of #Mastodon is really climbing. o.o This graph is from the last 3 months.

@n what do you use?
@cathal yeah. it was discussed already. maybe it will be a thing in the future! hopefully.
@cathal Mastodon uses the HTML alt-text and it's UI is way better than twitters' in my opinion.. if you post an image, the preview has a text field overlaying it saying "describe for the visually impaired". if you click on that, you can directly enter the alt-text.
@CBrachyrhynchos it's bizarre but very funny!
@skumring thanks :)
@John mine does, it's Amaroq.
@mcmoots @hummingrain I 'm afraid I don't know, I use Amaroq, an iOs client, and if I post an image, on the preview I see a text overlay "describe for the visually impaired". it looks the same in the browser version of mastodon. you can click on the image or tap your screen, and then you can directly enter the description!
