@banjofox I guess adding alt text to images is something I'm quite used to because I did write my own html website in the 00s :)
@hummingrain they have been discussing it on github lately, but I don't know if and when that will become part of mastodon.

@hummingrain for me it's still displayed over the image, I find it pretty obvious! I would love that mastodon would display a warning if you have left the alt text blank.
@banjofox I write really simple stuff like "this is a sock I'm knitting" or "a cup of tea" or stuff like that.
@ghost do you think that Halcyon can be a fix for that? it is a client without the tweetdeck-like layout.
@distelfliege i try to boost only images that have alt-text. a lot of folks post great memes and stuff, but if we want to build a welcoming community, then we need to stop excluding people from it.

@balouqlc hm. bei mir kommen bei #trump ergebnisse, wobei das natürlich ein deprimierender hashtag ist, ich bin ziemlich froh, hier weniger von dem arschloch zu lesen als bei twitter! :)
probier es doch noch mal.. und die suchergebnisse erscheinen bei mir in einer eigenen spalte der browserapp, vielleicht hast du die deshalb nicht gefunden. Ich nutze sonst tweetdeck bei twitter, dort ist es genauso, da war ich das schon gewöhnt.
der twitterähnliche client heißt Halcyon. hier kannst du dich einloggen:

auf dem mobilgerät benutze ich (iOs) den client Amaroq, es gibt enige andere, aber die habe ich nicht ausprobiert.

Ja, es stimmt, es gibt einfach wenig ergebnisse bei der Suche, vielleicht wird das jetzt besser, weil seit ein, zwei Wochen wurde eine "Elasticsearch" in die software integriert. aber es steht allen admins frei, diese an oder aus zu schalten, weils wohl viel rechenleistung dem server ab verlangt.
