I like the idea of writing a little blog post every day.
just about stuff that happened. hm. Like instagram but not on shitty instagram.
so yeah I did that 2 days in a row!
@distelfliege Ahhh I used to blog all the time. Started with AOL Journals back in the stone age. Made some amazing friends, and we all posted long-form about the minutiae of our lives and everyone knew everyone's business and cared about each other a great deal.
Tried to get back into it a few times but it's never stuck. :(
@WelshPixie I remember times when everyone was blogging too! we had a nice bubble on an austrian blogging platform, a very small one, and everyone knew everyone after a while..!
@distelfliege Yeah! AOL Journals is where I got my WelshPixie nickname from, heh. After that we were on Modblog, then that closed down and we went to a place called EFX that was run by one guy, but he abandoned it after a while and we kinda floundered around various places. @warpgate9 and I tried reviving efx on a buddypress platform but it was never the same.
@WelshPixie I still have my first blog - it's still online and active, I still use it for blogging about my cycling tours but I couldn't keep up last year, just no time..
and yeah the blogging community is just not there anymore, you don't get any comments any more, there is no discussion, only if you do inflammatory political posts.
nothing about political posts, but I did one that was really simplified and shouty and it got soooo much response and then, on the same topic, a really thoughtful one.. nothing. ugh.

@distelfliege Yeah :( I did a few posts on my website ranting about misogyny in a few places I encountered it and they always got 'heated debates' in the comments, but it just took so much energy to deal with all that, and I stopped.
@WelshPixie ehm I meant to write "I have nothing against political posts" instead of "nothing about political posts"
