@banjofox hmmmm no.. "ich hab mich doppelt verplant" means "i have scheduled myself twice" and "kann dieses jahr nicht zum wollefest" means "can't go to woolfest this year"
@banjofox I think a problem is that many germans leave out the verb. instead of "ich kann nicht zum fest gehen" we only say "ich kann nicht zum fest" or "ich kann keine milch trinken" we say "ich kann keine milch" it doesn't work with all verbs, but with some it's self explanatory if you leave them out and then they often get left out :D
Even without the gehen I felt like I had enough of the sentence structure. I wasn't -sure- what kann was, my brain read it as klein for a moment, but doppelt verplant, and Wollfest were COMPLETELY unknown :D
