@eskay8 I'm not getting this slow cooker thing though. it's like - "oooh revolutiooooon - let's split the preparation and the eating and put 12 hours in between!"

okay, there are dishes that require 12 hours of cooking, like italian ragú, I will admit that.

@distelfliege In this particular case, it's more that I wasn't sure I had enough concurrent hours when I would be home to cook it in a dutch oven (or whatever). Slow cooker can go on overnight or when there's no one in the house.

@eskay8 ah okay, my stuff is usually not ragú-like, it takes only minutes to cook up.
