#tattoo is there some kind of taboo to talk about the details of a tattoo one is planning? just curious.
@distelfliege I've had friends tell me in great detail and other friends keep it secret.
@gannet it's really interesting! for me it's the same. I estimate, the majority of people around me are not disclosing any details until it's done, but some talk about it beforehand.
@gannet I got my first this year and it is super intensely symbolic and meaningful. but I must admit I'm just the kind of person who has to blurt everything out immediately! didn't take away the magic though. it was and is absolutely magical and everything just came together in it's manifestation.
@distelfliege Oh certainly! And some of the things I'll tell other people startle them. So I think it's just one of those things that varies immensely.
It interests me that I can see how meaningful tattoos are to my friends and yet not be interested in having one for myself.

I never thought of getting one.. but I liked them on others.
@distelfliege I'm not actually interested in getting a tattoo myself. I think that if I were, though, it would be something intensely symbolic and meaningful - and I think I probably wouldn't tell people until afterward, if at all. There are some parts of my life that I'll tell anyone about, and others that I keep to myself.
