And people are "blind to oppression" do, like, usually have other senses and ways of communication, so, not a good metaphor.

And "lack of empathy" is a bit of a bullshit statement when it's about bigotry. Empathy has many aspects, and none of them are necessary to be a kind person who strives to minimize oppression.

If we have the urge to criticise something's metaphorical body instead of the lack of accomodations [huh, see, maybe this metaphor is also just bad, or at least deeply rooted in an also ableist "a disability is a /defect/ that first and foremost has to be /fixed/" mindset] –

yes, than that is also one that, if we follow it, will lead to an ableist utterance, no matter how "literal" it is.

A lot of things in my TL recently are "insane", "crazy" and "stupid". Some even "literally insane", "literally crazy" or "stupid, I can't find another word for it".

This is not just about words. If we have the urge to criticise something's deviation from sanity or something's presumed level of intelligence – [following toot for other example, but spoiler, this sentiment is ableist no matter how we word it]

100 years later and we have the same problems...
