LB it's good to know this. It doesn't change my opinion at all: @Alda is WAY less likely to sell me out than Twitter or Google. But I'm privileged in terms of people not really seeming interested in harassing me.
Run your own instance, have a locked account and be very selective who you federate with and you should have a decent sense of security (of course, that's not simple)
