I'm enjoying the most recent series, though, the most since Moffat took over. The Monks are pretty reminiscent of The Silence but... better? Partly by virtue of Matt Smith not being The Doctor. And Bill/Nardol are probably my favorite companions since Donna, and Martha.
@dconley am I gonna have to start watching this again? Smith wasn't awful, just weak. I blame Moffat for that, though. Occasionally Smith would show chops.
@kara_dreamer the first few Capaldi series were better but still mediocre, to the point where I wondered if I ever liked the show in the first place. This series is no Eccleston/Tennant but I'm liking it a lot.
@dconley I was at least glad (from afar, Smith and Moffat had brought my regular viewing of "Doctor Who" to an end) that there was an older actor in the role again, but with Moffat still writing I didn't return to viewing...where's a good point to pick up the thread again?
@kara_dreamer I'd say whatever the current series is. It starts with a new companion and things have happened since the last finale so you won't have missed anything.
