Just want to say something about the stalled timelines. There's bad news and good news.

Good news: It's been fixed, ask your instance admins to update to the latest commit (if you don't know what that means, don't worry, they will)

@cyrinsong the local timeline, obviously, but also the federated timeline is made from the local one + remote users that local users follow. So if your instance is full of people who follow assholes, you'll get a federated timeline full of assholes

For me the hardest part of making a Mastodon bot was figuring out the OAuth dance to get my access token.

Twitter offers a UI that does this for you, so I made one for Mastodon! It works on any instance, but it does require you to run a `curl` command (that it generates for you) at the very end. Hope you find it useful!
