i used dathttpd and some hostfile modifications the other day to stand up a local webserver that served dat archives like websites. visit “paste.dat” and get a simple send-a-file utility, but it’s just visiting localhost over my usual browser. i’ve since started thinking about how to make those hostfile changes without sudo... but imagine it. peering archives of web apps for a p2p web, under domain names you specified. who needs nameservers?

They're so full of themselves.
