I want to run a D&D campaign where the big villain is a lich bard. He was originally a bard but he became a lich so he'd have centuries to perfect his poetry. His massive villainous scheme is to manipulate cultures over centuries, starting wars and introducing cultural shifts and destroying whole kingdoms of people. His ultimate goal, though, is just to change how the Common language is pronounced, so that he can find a word to rhyme in one of the stanzas of his poem.

what if I did a sort of audio bookclub

where a couple times a week at least or even every day if I could find the time, I read stuff into an open mic

like, a few pages from a book at a time, or a short story, or something

as a stream, too, not a polished audio recording

it's often said that governments are responsible for essential services. they think about food security so nobody starves. they think about logistical security so goods can get where they're needed. but they don't. we freeze and we starve from fake shortages.

when governments do not provide these essential services, they do not become less essential. we must think about the material security of our communities. we must provide the essentials because no one else will. no one but each other.

A lot of Punk (and a lot of late 60s/early 70s Jazz) was recorded on potatoes, basically. It was of "low quality" compared to the output from the major labels of the era.

But it was also radical and revolutionary, and some of it unquestionably changed the face of modern music.

So, what I'm saying here, is don't worry if your stuff is "good."
