The syrup keeps for a pretty good amount of time in the refrigerator too.
If you do drink alcohol, a really good vehicle for an infused simple syrup is a French 75 since they're so minimal.
- 1/2 oz your infused simple syrup
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz gin
sparkling wine of your choice
Mix first three ingredients, and add to a champagne flute (or a glass of similar volume) and top with sparkling wine. They're...really easy to drink though, so be careful.
If you're more into a nonalcoholic evening, you can skip the gin and substitute the sparkling wine with sparkling cider. It will likely be a bit sweeter, but still good.
