@sydneyfalk it honestly upsets me so much because it's SO understandable and it's just so unspeakably sad that our culture is so fucked, this ends up looking like the right answer
@sydneyfalk I think about this shit all the time. the worst part is that I totally get it. like, it must be so much easier to just agree with them that women are bad but YOU'RE not like that. if you agree that other women deserve the abuse or oppression they get, then you can tell yourself that it won't happen to you, that it won't apply to you, because yeah you're a woman, but not one of THOSE women. if you can tell yourself that it's their fault they're getting hurt, you can tell yourself you won't get hurt as long as you don't make those 'mistakes'.
I suck! My life is like perfect except for very minor problems which are either fake or my fault and I get sad about them anyway? What an ass
@sydneyfalk yeah, I know the feeling. i still don't necessarily feel confident about all my Weird Traits. but i'm used to having to push through a mountain of self-doubt on my way to literally anything, so I've gotten a lot of practice at convincing myself to ignore it xD
@sydneyfalk my philosophy for doing 'weird things' is that there are like 9 billion people on this planet so odds are I will never be as alone as I think I am :p
