The other day -- I forget in what thread of what discussion -- someone said (roughly):

"Do you REALLY think that Tomi Lahren and Ann Coulter believe women are 'lesser'?"

To which I can retort, into the void, with this line:

"I’d begun to believe that I was lesser than or that I wouldn’t be given certain opportunities so there was no point in fighting for them."

That's from pennyblack.io/ which is a personal account by an angry woman crapped on by shitty Dudebros for years.

@sydneyfalk I think about this shit all the time. the worst part is that I totally get it. like, it must be so much easier to just agree with them that women are bad but YOU'RE not like that. if you agree that other women deserve the abuse or oppression they get, then you can tell yourself that it won't happen to you, that it won't apply to you, because yeah you're a woman, but not one of THOSE women. if you can tell yourself that it's their fault they're getting hurt, you can tell yourself you won't get hurt as long as you don't make those 'mistakes'.

this.

precisely this.

@sydneyfalk it honestly upsets me so much because it's SO understandable and it's just so unspeakably sad that our culture is so fucked, this ends up looking like the right answer
