Wonders why Dr Who never tried to defeat the cybermen by upgrading them to Windows 10.

Today's card
This has not been a very "Knight of Cups" day so far. Lots of emotional distress and difficulty controlling it well. Hopefully I can pull it together for part 2.
I truly cannot understand why people are so shitty to one another.
@Mycroft It's honestly more on the nose than they probably intended, though?
Like, I kind of love/hate that their version is carnivore/herbivore with the carnivore getting ready to attack what he reads as an herbivore. Much like the masculine/feminine binary, it's one that systematically destroys one side. (And also, existing outside of it really doesn't stop cishet men from trying to prey on anyone they see as women.)
Easy categories means easy victim selection.
Highlights from my first week of ukelele-having/learning:
I can play some chords! Lots of chords, actually. Most of them, provided there are tab pictures to show me how to make them. But still lots of trouble covering two strings with one finger.
I finished the whole "ukelele method 1" book I picked up.
I can play "Hallelujah" veeeery slowly. A bit faster plaing just the notes on melody, changing chords quickly is still hard.
Working on more songs but that one seemed easiest.
Picked up some records at a thrift shop today, not knowing anything about any of them really except that they looked cool and were really cheap. Been listening since I got home. A little crackly but good, and giving them a good clean might help with the crackling. Pretty good choices, I think.
1.5 hours till I actually have to get up for work. Do I take a nap or read a book?
Nah, it's definitely naptimes.
Whew, yesterday was kind of tough. Hopefully a good day today.
Today's Card: 2 of Cups
I'm not sure how to interpret this for today, but it's a nice card.
Playing Dream Daddy. Decided I needed second dates with all my my faves to pick the best match.
....
Oh no I like them all the best. Oops.
(I had assumed it was going to be between Brian and Hugo but went out with Robert for laughs. But it was adorable and now it's a 3-way tie. And I still kind of want to give Mat another chance even though sate 1 didn't go well.)
...I love this game. Buggy but fun.
Today's Card
@tcql There are just so many choices. I always want to know what the others are like.
Oh no I got sucked in.
I was kind of an ass to a customer today.
Not going to pretend it wasn't totally, completely, very extremely deserved. But I do try to be better and not get dragged down into snark battles. It tends to annoy rude people even more when you're nice to them anyway, so no reason to get all wound up in their feelings.
I did spend probably the next hour thinking through what I probably *should* have said and how to be more helpful if the situation comes up again. Even if the other person doesn't listen at all and is just determined to scream at me for things out of my control. At least I'll know I did my part.
My brownies turned out great so Im making more when I get home yay.
Good morning! I woke up really early to make brownies. Yum.
Today's Card: 9 of Cups
Key Words: Comfort, Emotional Stability, Luxury
Well, that sounds good!
It is almost the weekend, and I actually don't work this weekend for the first time in awhile. Planning to experiment with styles for my new slightly-awkward haircut, play my ukelele, and watch a lot of videos.
Good morning!
Today's Card: The Devil, reversed
Ah, finally one that actually turns more positive when reversed! Key words are freedom, release, and restoring control. The description talks about recognizing what's actually important and what needs to be let go.
Today I'm making a plan for dealing with financial worries so I don't have to hang on to them. And also figuring out some things about "real careers" and ambition and "wasting my education" so I can let go of the worry that I'm wasting my potential and letting people down.
I'm learning to play ukelele. It's super fun but my fingers hurt so much. I think I need to pick up some finger guards.
But even with the ow factor, it's such a great part of my day. The ukelele just sounds so happy and calming. Rough day? Angry customers? Stressed boss? It's ok, I'll be home to play my happy little uke soon. Ahhh.
Highlight of tonight's practice session: I can now play 4 chords and do a fancy "1-and-2-and" strum. And can play the songs I've learned with far fewer mistakes...as long as I play slowly.
