woke up earlier than usual to try to see what I can of the eclipse

This is boring. I'm bored. I thought the eclipse was only going to last a few minutes. But it's not going to peak for another 80 minutes, and supposed to end around the time I normally get ready for work.
I ended up going back to bed for another couple hours. I set my alarm for five minutes before it was supposed to be darkest, so I could at least experience that. But when it did, I looked up, and couldn't be that dark because bright light was still peeking through my blackout curtains, so I decided not to get up after all.
@Mycroft Yeah, I've been working drive-thru and therefore standing right in front of a big open window the entire time. No noticeable darkening here. I think the heavy clouds are both making it dark enough in the first place and spreading the light enough that it's just not a big deal? I know nothing about how any of this works. :D But that's my best guess.
