(i wanted to say "this is gunworld. it's real", but is there any distinction between "this is" and "it is" in french?)

@candle my intuition might be to use "vraiment", maybe? "it really is"

@candle @theoutrider no distinction. but for "it's réal" you can also sa "c'est réel".

@theoutrider @candle or "c'est la réalité" (this is reality)

@candle

"This is gunworld" seems very idiomatic to me. I don't know how we can translate that in french (literally it's like you did).

@dirtyvader @candle

Probably, or "monde armé" (yours sound better to me).

But the idiom I saw was the "this is [insert something here]" part.

For instance, in the movie 300, when Leonidas say "This is sparta", in french, its translated by "Nous sommes les spartiates » (we are the spartian). Which is different, and the literal translation "C'est spartes" wouldn't make any sense… Like "Yeah, of course its sparta! Duh!"

I dont think it is possible to translate this.

@Simon_Archipoff @candle Maybe "C'est cela, Sparte" ? Yeah it's less natural than "Nous sommes les Spartiates"

@dirtyvader @candle

You're right, I guess that the closer translation. With an implied « Ça ce passe comme ça ici ». Nevertheless, it sound odd to me.

@candle I'd have said somthing like "C'est gunworld, c'est réel" or "c'est la réalité".
