No, "tu" is not a "oo" sound, it's a sound you don't have in english I think, it's the same sound in "voiTUre" for example.
And "te" is not a "é" either. It's "eu", like in "je" (I) or "jeu" (game).
"Je te veux" (I want you) -> same sound

@candle tu is kinda hard to spell phonetically tbh - you really pronounce the u? like, it's almost 'tew' but shorter and with... less of the w? that probably doesn't make sense
