talking about my cold Afficher plus

I have a sore throat, and also inexplicably just had the best nights sleep of my life. Thanks, I guess?

I think next time I see him I'm going to try and learn his name because remembering him solely as "nameless hair boy" feels sort of dehumanising

One of the kpop boys has the same hair as me. I don't know his name, or which group he's in, but from time to time I will see a handsome young man with my haircut and whisper "same hair" before he disappears back into the tumblr ether

I gots a sore throat, so I'm gonna stay in bed and read about crime all day, like a lil parody of myself

@Nocta @Mirzaba yeah, I can see how it wouldn't appeal to everyone! There was definitely a huge difference in terms of visual quality between the cutscenes and the regular game, which I found sort of charming, but I get why other people might not agree

How did you think the story lacked consistency? I haven't played it in a bit, I think it did vary between chapters?

@Mirzaba it's such a thoughtfully written game in so many ways and the writing stands up surprisingly well for a video game from the 90s. I really love it

Anyway the moral of the story is learn how to touchtype properly, if you can't already. Even if you don't switch keyboard layouts it's fast and comfier for your wrists, and it's cool to feel like a hacker in a film typing shit with all your fingers

I started typing in Dvorak in May, and in 8 months I went from not being able to do it at all, to being able to type ~70wpm even when I'm too fatiguey to stand up properly. It would probably have gone even quicker if I didn't have CFS!

It brings me so much joy to use my fancy audiophile headphones to listen to youtube videos in like 480p, knowing that I'm having a genuinely great time and simultaneously, an insufferable nerd boy is having heart palpitations over the thought of this

@Mirzaba yeah I think I might have to try something else. I don't even like cinnamon that much! I just went with it because it came up the most when people recommended distros for beginners. My brother's on Ubuntu too, I'll have to give it a shot

I went with mint because everyone said it was the best distro for total babies, but I keep having problems with it where I want something more complicated than what it offers.

Technically it's apparently possible to do this, but it seems like there's about 30 reasons it could be doing this, all of them require different fixes, and apparently mint will reinstall grub if I uninstall it then update the kernel. >:?

Me: hey, can I have my bootloader be pretty?
Bootloader: sure! here's the themes, it should take 30 seconds to fix.
Me: can I have my bootloader boot straight into linux instead of booting into grub?
Bootloader: ...........no.

I'm still kind of on the fence about linux, but i really like that if i want to do something, there's almost always clear instructions online. they're always so non-condescending, too! like people assume you can fix your own problem if you fiddle about a bit, and i love that.

Tumblr's suggested tags for me look like a subpar shitpost

Buying one (1) humble bundle and spending the rest of your life finding video games you didn't know you owned in places you weren't expecting, like glitter

dvorak problems: spellcheck not catching it when you type "ass" instead of "all"
