@Angle yeah honestly an option to auto-CW other people's posts above a length of your choice would be the best solution, IMO.

(To be frank I feel like having ~5000 character limits is kind of ridiculous at all on a site with such narrow columns, but I get why ppl want it and I don't expect them to stop, so whatever)

Hey if you're on an instance that has a really large character limit (>1000), can you please CW any extremely long public toots? It takes up so much timeline and comes across as really inconsiderate. Cheers.

Also I think it's like really irresponsible of channel four to have unskippable personalised adverts for alcohol? So many people struggle with alcohol, and having a thing pop up like "have you, specifically, considered gin" seems kind of needlessly shitty

@ebeth yeah, totally! We only watched it cos we thought it was going to be about the new doctor. Moffat did Blink, which was like the best standalone Who episode, so it's not like they haven't done it before? Maybe Chibnall will be better.

Also, I think regeneration doesn't really hold any narrative weight cos it's clear he's not dying, and I wish they'd portray it more like... a fond goodbye to the actor than Big Terrifying Death

@ebeth I completely feel you on this! I didn't watch the last series and it was really hard to care about what happened in the special as a result. Make specials lighthearted standalones!!

Koyaanisqatsi makes such good use of its soundtrack. The sped up footage of people doing the same thing over and over is complemented so nicely by Glass's soundtrack, which also does the same thing over and over but builds into something bigger.

It's really lovely, and I wholeheartedly recommend it if you're up for an 80s art film!
