I love when crime fiction doesn't focus on the bodies of the victims. It always feels so dehumanising when stuff like CSI shows the bodies of the women Some Dude killed, then spends an hour trying to figure out what he was thinking when he did it. That shouldn't be where the focus is. It's so much better when they treat the victims like actual people

it always makes me feel uncomfortable because i immediately notice when something is entirely about men or about straight people, but sometimes it takes me a little while to realise when the cast of a show is entirely white or posh.

i know it's meant to be like that! i know it shouldn't be comfortable to think about. i just don't think i'm doing as well at noticing as i would like to. it's hard.
