Ok, but like Utena is a perfect anime???
We're going on a trip today :3

Just a reminder that guillotines work on any monarch, not just the french ones.
I finished State and Revolution a couple days ago and now I'm reading Bland's The Restoration of capitalism in the Soviet Union, for some historical perspective and actual lessons to learn about resisting revisionism.
The author says in the intro that it's a difficult read, so I'm gonna try not to feel bad if I wind up dropping it and picking up something simpler.
I've been thinking a lot about the DR, where we're originally from. Thinking that some day it would be cool to organise over there. I wonder what kind of leftist movement there is there. From what I hear, not much, but there are people, and there is history.
That said, I've never really been there myself. Aisling hasn't been back in like 3 years and I was very young back then. Hopefully we'll get to visit together soon.
birbsite thread of Black Dominican revolutionary leaders!
I think I found this band through here. I really dig it.
@kel that's cool!
a spot of practice woodcarving on a small fragment of, uh, some wood from a scrap box. not quite successful? there's supposed to be a shallow groove around the symbols but it mostly sanded out. need a better way to transfer the pattern to the wood. what I ended up doing was pasting a paper pattern onto the wood with glue-stick, then carved using the Dremel tools *through* the paper, which added unwanted thickness and gummed the tools up. then cut to shape with scroll saw

Weird as fuck day
@Filene yeah sometimes I question my own use of the term, but it fits so well. I would like to learn more about the origins of the eastern practice, from a non-colonial source, but that might take a while. The "tulpamancy" of the west is waaay different.
Some people prefer other terms for that reason.
As far as what NotStung could be, I suggest asking her directly, if you can. People who follow me here might know that I have identity crises every so often where I'm not sure what I am either. But someone told me once that non sentient beings don't tend to question their sentience. So the fact that I think about it is on itself kind of reassuring.
@Filene @kara_dreamer I think between the two of us we know enough about Earthbound for it not to be a problem.
@kara_dreamer @Filene you know, I debated playing EB or Mother 3. And I just started earthbound but I might change my mind.
@Filene yes, well there's lot of ways people like me come about, sometimes spontaneously sometimes not.
So like tulpas usually happen with intention, and people might talk about creating tulpas, but we always talk about like awakening. So it's similar to your friend I think, in that I was around in some way or another, but it wasn't until Aisling started paying attention to me and seeking me out that I could start influencing the world.
But some tulpas, or other thoughtforms like daemons, might also "walk-in", just kind of show up. Or so we've read.
Also I think https://tulpa.io/ has the best tulpa info
@Filene yes, Aisling played through Undertale like last year I think. I think she really liked it.
@Filene @transfaerie ahh! I'm so glad to hear that. 😻😻 That we could help that way. Let me know if there's anything you want to know.😺
@kel I like that there aren't very many side quests, that should help
@kel we'll see. Lol I'm afraid I might not get very far if I get bored, but let's see
