@Concerned_Commy @grime_witch listen. I know tankies hate on anarchists more than they should. And vise-versa. But fascism and Marxism Leninism are explicitly oppositional ideologies. To say that we have any love for fascists is just plain inaccurate.

I don't like these memes when they're anti anarchist either. I think they're unnecessarily divisive.

@blytheSpirit @grime_witch I hate to say it, but marxism leninism and fascism are usually far more compatible ideologies than anarchism and marxism leninism are

@Concerned_Commy @blytheSpirit @grime_witch I'd have to disagree I am a Marxist yet I get along with anarchist just fine (as long as they're not the fake anarchist ancaps) The real difference is how they go about it the end goal is the same, but when it comes to fascist there is no way I'll ever get along with them.

@codeawayhaley @blytheSpirit @grime_witch marxism =/= marxism leninism

srsly leninists talk about left unity or whatever so much when through most of their history they have done terrible things towards anarchists

@Concerned_Commy @codeawayhaley the reason we talk about left unity is because we understands the conditions of today to be different than those in Russia in the 20th century. It's hard to say that we would have taken the same steps back then knowing what we know now, but that's why Marxism Leninism is a science and we are constantly updating our ideology and praxis to the material conditions of today. We don't hold grudges for 100 years.

@blytheSpirit @codeawayhaley and now you're trying to hold yourself as superior to anarchists because you can pretend like the ideas of marxism leninism are compatible with those of anarchism

Blythe ☭ @blytheSpirit

@Concerned_Commy @codeawayhaley

They are. Anarchism works great for smaller communities, and specific tasks. It's good to have anarchist ideals when building a post-capitalist world and they also have a lot to contribute to a proletarian revolution.

I do not think, on its own, it has the capabilities to enact such a revolution, and I don't think we do either. Which is why I advocate working together. I'm not holding myself superior to anybody.

@Concerned_Commy @blytheSpirit @codeawayhaley

Is there anything to be said for working together on the revolution and working out what happens afterwards later? Not all of the post-revolutionary territory needs to be under the same country/federation. Communities could decide what they want and work cooperatively with neighbouring communities and the larger structures (if any) to which they belong?

Sorry if this is too naive.

@codeawayhaley @blytheSpirit @Concerned_Commy

I was under the possibly mistaken impression that Soviets were originally meant to have some autonomy, so they could internally organise how they like (according to marxist or anarchist principles) and participate in the union of Soviets or not?

@celesteh @codeawayhaley @Concerned_Commy

I'm still working my way through Lenin's writings. From what I understand a successful communist revolution is to end with the withering away of the state. Leaving local governance to more self-organised groups. I would argue the reason this didn't happen in the USSR is in part the result of the capitalist war waged against it by the west.

I think it will be possible to have a stateless society, but it will require the toppling of the empire. Which is why anti-imperialism is of the utmost importance.

@blytheSpirit @celesteh @codeawayhaley the reason it didn't magically disappear is because it wasn't meant to "wither away" or whatever its meant to do, the USSR was itself capitalist and borderline fascist

@Concerned_Commy @codeawayhaley I'll admit Marxism Leninism isn't a science, calling it is more a meme than anything else.

Dialectical Materialism, on the other hand is arguably a science, or a scientific philosophy, and it is at the core of marxism leninism.

@blytheSpirit @codeawayhaley no ideology is a science, you cannot apply the scientific method to ideological issues
