literally this entire book is about this caricature of a socially maladjusted white nerd boy who spent all his time absorbing all the pop culture and is obnoxious about it, and can only see the world through that lens.

and the plot glorifies this and aids and abets him in being fucking terrible.

I guess the gist of it is techlords keep thinking that "community moderation" and in general "ethics" is something they can give to a computer to handle and it just isn't. It never will be. This is not something you can just magically solve.
